Want everyones opinion on my cage....Legal for 9's or 135?

As far as the swingout...Inside of the actual cage where the pin goes is a steel sleeve for the pin to go into for added strength. its not just through the bar with no added strength
The cage to the side of the shock towers IS legal as long as there are baseplates on them, as mine is. Hell i would hope it would be legal, it IS an integral part of the car.
Anyone else have any opinions?

As long as those plates to the towers measure 6"X 6".

I just measured them, they are 4x6 without really anymore room to expand them past 4". Is there not any clauses in the rulebook to cover that? I know no tracks in my area will EVER tech me that hard, but im sure i could slide at majority of the tracks. Im not going to be going 9's just yet, but 135mph might be there

i did the same thing with the shock towers. My tech didnt even measure those plates, because of the area, just judged the welds, saw it was all tigged right there, it cant get any stronger haha. the swingouts are negligible because of those joints you have. might wanna check on the rules on pin diamter and such but i think you are supposed to have s cylinder type thing that will slide over the joint, OR like the one above with the fat hinge in it. I hate swing out bars i think they are unattractive and weak. Add your D bars and get it certified. Dont be shocked if they dont like the swingout.

No offense to the OP, but I've always wondered this...
Why do people BUILD cages, THEN ask if they're legal? Wouldn't you want to know how to set it up legally BEFORE you start welding?
Sorry for the rant

lol good point. I was 100% involved in every aspect of my cage to make sure it my requirements as well as following the rules.
the window net is technicall supposed to be within the confines of the cage. the cage tech will not fail a cage for that, but a track official could reject your car if it meets the speed requirements for the net and cage and your net isnt in the confines of the cage.

you need the other points off the main hoop, along with the bar that connects the main hoop via the bottom of the tunnel. guess that's the D bar or something.
cage looks pretty, but then again, you have to have a car that starts, drives under its own power, before you need to worry about 9

We just got our project GTR's cage certified and it passed with a swing out and bent door bars.
