ok i got a check engine light today? i think its just an emissions thing but heres wat it says.
"EVAP leak in canister area"
i dont know exactly where the canister area is, or to be honest wat it is. my dad said something about a charcoal filter canister out of the fuel tank, but he doesnt like to help me..lol. any help would be great.

Your charcol canister should be located in the engine bay, it should look like a black box with I believe two or three vacumm lines hooked up to it. Check all the lines and make sure there hooke up, also there should be a purge solenoid hooked up with the vacuum line. Another thing that could cause the CEL to go off for this code is a loose or missing gas cap. Yes, I said loose or missing gas cap.

 

its not a gas cap, thats a separate code. i checked the canister and all seems to be in order....
