Default Dmanit . . . Need a radiator . . .

I knew this one was coming. It finally gave up the ghost tonight.

So where is the cheapest place to get a new one and how much is it gonna cost me? The best I have done so far is $177 at a local auto parts store.

I keep forgetting about him every time I go to Antietam to buy something.

What's wrong with the radiator? Maybe Looper Servicenter in Rockville may be able to help you in some way? I had the radiator out of my old Protege refurbished for just over $100 a few years back. They are located near the Rockville Metro.

The plastic tanks are separating from the metal fins and it is leaking because it is a high-quality design that the Japanese decided to use.

From what I remember on the old car, there were hundreds of little tabs that held the top plastic tank onto the aluminum section. They replaced the tank with no problem and I never had another problem until I ultimately drove the car into the ground. That was at least 3 years.

I would much rather replace it with a quality design that uses metal tanks that are welded to the radiator.

Just for ***** and grins how long did it take them to fix yours?

I remember it being no more than a couple days. I just pulled the radiator out and dropped it off.

I hear you on wanting metal and not plastic...I have cursed the plastic too.

Because you weren't at work last night. I was gonna talk to you about it today. Oh - add a passenger side door to the list.

If you want to go all-out (Fluidyne or Koyo) Absolute radiator has good prices and excellent service. I couldn't be happier with a vender.

Edit: they also have an all-metal OE replacement for $159.

You sure about this? I've been trying to reach them on the phone for 3 days and can't get a response, and they don't return voice mails or emails.

I had a radiator from a company "Modine" a few years back on a car, it was all metal and pretty good quality. Around $120....

I think he was sure about it back in April, when he typed that message.
