1989 CRX Si Ignition Timing
Hello, I'm new here...
A Prelude-Dude sent me this way...
I just replaced my head gasket in my driveway...
the factory service manual for this car says 18 degrees for ignition timing...
sorry to display my ignorance, but is the before or after TDC?
the book doesn't say...
I assume that'd be advanced as opposed to retarded - but any insight will be appreciated...

BTDC = Before top dead center.
On the crank pulley you will see four marks a white one (TDC)
and two red ones surrounding a notch. 18deg is the notch. the red ones are the limit marks + or - two degrees.
Depending on the timing light you have adjustable or non adjustable.
Non adjustable you will see the red marks with the notch.
Adjustable set to 18 degrees you will see the white(TDC)mark.
