D16A6 flywheel questions
I just removed the tranny/clutch/flywheel in my 90 civic Si.
The clutch was bare metal and has dug rings into the pressure plate.
The flywheel surface looks smooth, and I didn't see any light under the straight edge. I didn't see the part in the Helms about putting a dial indicator on the flywheel while its still on the motor until after I removed it.
I also did not see any specific instructions to have it machined.
Furthermore, it is different than my B Series flywheel - the clutch mating surface is sunken on the D series and raised on the B series. Is it supposed to be sunken, or did my bare clutch grind it down too far? not sure if i need another flywheel or not...how deep (if at all) is the d series flywheel mating surface supposed to be. I'll try to take pics afterwork....
