Default I can only get about 300 miles outta full tank!?

my car gets really poor gas mileage lately, i can only get around 300 miles outta 14 gallons which is about 21 mpg average. before, i could get up to 350-400.. what the problem can be?

PS: i have an ebay intake that ive installed in the car last year.

I used to only get about 310 per tank - but now I get around 350-370. The best I have gotton is 375. I have a 99 V6 coupe. However, I do a lot of highway driving.....

are you making alot of short trips?
you would be SHOCKED to see what a difference it makes if you never floor it versus doing it even a few times. at WOT the injectors are bascially splooging out fuel.

check to make sure tires are inflated, and just watch your driving style

<= last tank got 30 mpg 65/35 highway city, now about to have roughly 27 50/50

my 4 cyl, auto 97 lx coupe as i remember got 321 miles on a completely full tank....not much higher than yours...it all depends on how fast you drive and for how long you maintain high speeds for.

I get around 300-315 miles to my tank on my 97 5 speed with an H22. I'm also having some fuel problems which at WOT my car dumps fuel "black smoke." If I were you I would do a tune up, maybe even change the fuel filter, ect...

i do a lot of local drivings, i run about 300 miles every week.

for tune up , i had the spark plugs, wires, rotor cap, distrubitor ,etc replaced at honda dealer ( free emission warranty) back in feb. and my buddy is tellin me to replace the intake filter. you guys think that would help?

h22a, 280 cams, lsd, oem intake, greddy header, test pipe, apex-i WS exhaust, 16x7(205/50) wheels, a bit of weight reduction...I get 300miles of mixed driving on 12 gallons of gas. 25 miles mixed driving, and I get 30-31 on the highway, 80mph at 4k on the Tach.

you may want to do a full tune up. i recomend denso iridium plugs. not only does ur driving make a difference, so does what u put in your car. i had bosch platinums+4 for the longest time, and i would seriouslt see my gas guage move as if it were a v8 when i floored it. now, i can floor it and keep it at high rpms, and still have the same amount of gas. trust me, those denso iridiums plus a k&n filter will boost ur gas milege up a bunch and you will notice it in ur wallet.

just to add my 3 cents, city driving will get ya crappy gas mileage, highway driving well ya know the answer to that one. Like the other dudes on here said if ya wanna get better gas mileage go easy on the throttle, i had that experience when i rented a hyundai!!!! i was FLOORING that *****...... 90 miles later i nearly burned half a tank of gas and this was highway driving. So i took it easy on the throttle and i drove from pa to NY on that other half tank Round trip. this was a 6 cylinder. make sure you change your oil regular. good luck

Just today I got 405 miles to the tank. About half highway half street, more on the highway side. Ive got a 2000 accord lx sedan, bone stock except for some H&Rs.

Normally i get about 350 to 380 per tank. With pure street driving i get about 300 to 350.

I also can get about 450 on a full tank, 1994 Accord LX, 239,000 miles; I have owned it since it had 74,000 miles on it. I just drove 370 miles highway, speeds of 65 and 70, and still have a quarter of a tank left. So 450-500 sounds about right. I averaged 36 mpg on the highway, but that is because I was running my AC a little, on it's lowest setting. I get between 38-40 mpg on the highway without the AC, and only 35 mpg with the AC on full blast. I get 29 mpg in town, which is 60% highway and 40% stop/go. Is it bone stock? Everything except the FULL SYTHETIC MOTOR OIL and the K&N oil filter. Ya'll should try a good synthetic motor oil, the fuel milage will surprise you. The Accord does take advantage of the lower friction coefficient of sythetic; my girlfriend's Ford Explorer does not. I also keep my air filter changed every year or two, change my tranny fluid every year. Bone stock.
