a friend of mine recently bought a magnaflow catback(95gsr), and she so graciously chose me to install it...piece of cake(and a nice piece). anyway i get the old one out and the new one ready to be put in, get it under the car and find out that the resonator part is 4" to short?? i talked with the magnaflow guy(nice guy to deal with) and after some measuring and talking, we found out i had the right exhaust for the car. so now i am quite puzzled as to why it is 4" to short. my idea is that since the car had a front-ender some time ago, it is quite possible that the gsr exh manifold was replaced with something else...that is shorter. does anybody know if the ls/rs ones are shorter? the manifold is stock looking, heatshield in place...its a 4-2-1setup, cast top section w/the cast being the 4(obvious) and then it turns into steel piping(2) then into the 1 section. the o2 sensor is on the cat. anyhelp/pics of stock setups would be great... i would just like to figure out where the prob is, cause its bugging me, and when she goes to buy a header...if i don't mod the exhaust in the right place, then i'll have to do it again! thanks guys!

 

i also thought that too, but the part no# and pipe lengths match what magnaflow used on a stock gsr they had in their shop. do you mean the manifold or the exhaust is shorter...? thanks for the help
