Sounds like a good price to me, Ive seen worse go for more. Its swapped, It comes with a dash, and otherwise its in very good shape, Plus it only has 125K on the Speedo. Sounds like a great car.

If you thinks its a good deal it is, if you cant find another crx in your area for that price then its a good deal. If that motor doesnt smoke and has perfect compression or close to it then its a good deal (goto a local shop and pay them to do a compression check) It looks alright body wise but really just make sure everything works

I'd do a compression test on the engine before you consider buying, keep in mind that the ZC may have "only 67k" on it, it's still anywhere from 15-18 years old and might need new seals, gaskets, etc. Also really check in the rear wheel wells under the 1/4 panels and check for any signs of "Honda death rust". Still, I'd offer around $1500 if all is good.

I spent 3150 on mine and drove 2000 miles to retrieve it. Whatever it is worth to YOU.

i Live in Bloomington IL and he lives in ST. Louis.
is a 2 hour drive and he said he would drive the car 1/2 way so i knew it was working and i could buy it there.

"Honda Death Rust"? like meaning if its there its everywhere and i dont see it? and the cars going to die?

No its not the same one from RC autoworks

The dash was Cut by the owner before the owner that had it now, he said it was cut for modifications but never went through with it.

How do i check the engine compression? is there a kit i can buy or do i have to pay to have it done. i feel kinda wuerd driving it to a shop before i buy it and saying "test the compression". if i have to pay? how much and what should the results be?

I cant find a single CRX for sale around me for a decent price. theres one but the guy wants 9k and im like ...yea. right....

Well dont forget ZCs are jdm motors and almost all of them are guessed milage, so there is no way he knows the exact miles unless he either rebuilt it or is counting hte miles he added onto it once he got it. A compression check is simple. Goto your autoparts store and buy the kit and have someone there explain it, I think explaining it online doesnt mean jack if you cant see what your doing. As far as the honda rust, yea check that ^^^^ most ppl will paint over it and so it appears to be good

If it's all been done right, it's a good price. If he had the motor professionally done, he should have records and should be able to prove it. Jumping into someone else's projects can be a nightmare...I know from experience. Just make sure to check everything out and scrutinize EVERYTHING. Remember...it's your money so make sure you know everything about the car before paying a dime.

Also, have you checked out the classifieds here? I swear I've just recently seen a couple CRX's in Illinois area for sale. Also, check out ef-honda.com classifieds. There's normally a few on there for sale. Don't think that you HAVE to jump on this one because you can't find anything else.

Good luck

ok well, i plan on calling the owner tomarrow and asking about compression. and see if he has paperwork to back it up.

if not how much will it cost to have it done by a mechanic?
is it hard to do it yourself?

http://www.autozone.com/servle...Etrue
is that what im wanting to buy?? if so i do i use it? are there instructions on how to test the compression?

Whats should the compression be on a JDM ZC motor?

if it passes and its ok i think im going to buy it!

i wish i could find an offer that good! it seems i never have good luckwith finding deals, i would just wait but im getting ready to go back to school for my senor year of high school, my car i drive now is a POS and is breaking apart around me.
so im to the point ill take whateva i can get thats in decent condition. and currently this is the only CRX that presented itself to me for even close to a reasonable amount.

i talked the guy down, originaly he was asking 2500 but i got it down to 2000 and was happy i shaved off 500.

if anyone reading this has a CRX Si that they would like to sell to me for cheaper that in the same condition and is close to me, speak up! i dont need the swapped engine or anything, just a running car in decent condition i can add to as i go. im planning on buying this one in probably 1-2 weeks (thats is compression is ok) and any better offers present themselves.

Still wondering how hard checking compression is though. i know about car parts and whats what but i know nothing about working on them.

p.s. i thank you all for the support and help. its helped me alot and this forum has expanded my thinking and has made me even more of a fan of CRX. everytime i see one i cant wait to get my first one.

Sincerly
Phillip, Bloomington IL

$2k sounds fair... considering the swap and the condition of the body... i'd say that your are getting every penny worth

The rear section seems primered black, I would say 1,500 is more worth it.

search compression test, look in the FAQ, get the kit and do the compression test. Its easy, takes 10 minutes (if the plugs come out easy).

ok, i found the kit at autozone for like 25$ so now all i need to do it go and check out the car.

No the back of the car has a flat black paint, the hood however is only black primed, but i plan on getting a carbon fiber for it, so i dont worry to much.
when i go to check the compression, what should my number be? i know there should vary no more than 10 PSI but what should they all be around?

once again thx for the imput you all have helped me out alot!

if i end up buying the car ill post some good pictures!
