Default Oil Filter Swap Without Draining Oil?

I really wanna get rid of an oilder filter that Im running on my car but dont wanna be botherred with changing the oil that I changed 50 miles ago, dont even wanna lift the car off the ground.

Can I swap filters without draining the oil or will oil go everywhere. Does oil sit there behind the filter after the car is off?

The loss will be minimal unless you start it..
Just set a drain pan underneath and you will be fine..

No the oil is not backed up behind the filter. The filter, however, will always be filled with oil. So no matter what you do, some is gonna come pouring out when you remove it. You should definently re-check your oil level (and add more if necissary) after you swap filters & run the car for a moment...
