Default Intermediate shaft install advice

I was thinking of replacing the intermediate on my 94 integra LS, does it require and draining the transmission oil first?

Is there a reason why you want to replace your intermediate shaft?
if you do need to replace it, when you pull it out from the transmission, it will spill all your tranny fluid and be a mess so you should drain it first
