Cometic HG marked "UP" on one side... only that side MUST face down???

Cometic HG marked "UP" on one side... only that side MUST face down???
Anyone got any info on this...
I mean there is NO way it will fit on there with the "up" facing up... Everything lines up right and all but I'm worried about it being a manufacturing error...
I've torqued it down and got it running and since taking it apart again... it ran ok and did not seem to be leaking for the HG... just wanted to check if anyone else ever ran into this.
