car wont start, pump not priming.
98 ex. has had no starting problems till now. Went to start it, pump isnt priming, wont crank, tried jumping it, nothing. checked fuses. any ideas?
are you getting power at all? if your pump isn't priming then it's not just your starter, obviously. you have a different, electrical problem. check the ignition pieces in your steering column, the ecu, etc. does the car have power everywhere else? radio, etc?

Check the ECU for codes. If you have Code 0 (CEL remiains LIT) then your ECU needs repair or replaced. There is a capacitor on the board in the ECU which is notorious for leaking, and it is the one that drives the main relay/fuel pump. WHen this cap goes, you get no fuel and no spark. It is a 220uF 35V cap near the ECU plugs.

when i try starting no lights on the dash light up. Then i ran a ground from the neg batt. post to the head kinda cranks. Then the line i used started smoking?
listen to the guy above you. its probably your man relay. pull it out and pop of the cap and look at the solder pads. if there are cracks , just blob a small amount of solder on and you're good to go.

i had a bad ground on my thermostat housing. it LOOKED fine, but the car would just DIE on me while driving. all power.. gone. then start back up. weird.
when i went to tighten the bolt, it broke off. corroded. ha! moved the ground to a new location = fixed.

and it was wierd because i checked the ground on the thermostat and got nohting would look around and leaning on the rad. support id hear the fuel system prime, so i would go to start it, it would turn over as if the battery were dead band then the rad. fan would turn on, turn the key off, and then nothing. it was pretty weird, but now im going to clean up all my grounds.
