Default Forged pistons/rods

I've been looking around for some forged pistons and rods for an F22 and I haven't been able to find much, I see that Eagle makes h23 rods should work, but as for 85mm pistons I dont see too many options other then having them custom, I was hoping to get a shelf piston, I know there are more people out there looking to build the bottom end for boost, thanks.

not in referrence to your post but to your "WTB H22 throttle body" in your sig... As long as your F22 (assuming thats what you have judging by your post) you could just go to Maxbore and have you stock F22 TB bored out. The F and H throttle bodies (with the exception of the S2000 and Type S) all bore out to the same diameter anyway. Check it out, he has a big long thread somewhere on here.

Sorry for the off topic, just figured I would let you know that if you didn't already know.

thanks for the info, but I actually don't have an F22 throttle body, I'm building the F22a/H22a hybrid turbo motor and I just dont have the H22 throttle body, which I might take off my current h22 as soon as I finish the ITBs for it, but I appriciate the help

If you can bore out the cylinders to 87MM you can use anything made for an H22 withotu a bore. Not sure if that's possible on an F series as I've never done the research. Just something to consider.

Edit:

Arias makes pistons for the F series @ 85MM, a little better.

race engineering stocks 85mm pistons for the F22. They also stock 86mm pistons for the F23.

check the XTP pistons under sport compact.

awesome, thank you, anyone had any experiences using those pistons by any chance?

I've heard mostly good things from Arias. However I've never used them first hand.

I've used arias before and they have been working great, but I do not see a shelf piston for the F22, also about the rods, anyone have anything besides crower billet and pauter rods? I'm looking for something like eagle, something relatively inexpensive that will still get the job done, I'm debating just getting the H22 rods and having the pin bores as high as possible and see if that is possible. I thought I remember hearing of someone who did that

IMO you may just be better off with a set of stock H23 rods. From the research that I've done it's the best cash/reliability performer. What are your goals with the car?

a pretty powerful turbo setup ~450whp, I've seen it done on factory H23 rods but I think thats really pushing their limit. Im looking for something a little more beefy than factory rods, the car will be very well tuned so I'm not looking to buy the most expensive titanium rods and everything that I can find so that it will be able to withstan alot of detonation. Just something a little beefier than factory

I always thought h23/f22 rods had the same part number. I'm too lazy to check go check, though.

If you're going to 450 you should get something better than H23 rods.

I'm using the XTP pistons from Race Eng. (made by CP) in my F23, and they've already taken quite a beating with no problems at all. I'm also running the crower billet F23 rods.

thanks for the heads on those pistons, they look like a good deal, but I was thinking I might bore the block to 86mm and run RSX-S pistons because they use nearly the same compression height and they also use the same pin bore, but those pistons that are for sale are tempting. Anyhow for the rod situation I still haven't found much, I've seen some made by RPM and Probe I believe it was, oh and I saw someone saying that Tuner Toys makes some knock offs of eagle for the H23? they don't appear to be listed on their website but I am going to contact them and verify. Thanks everyone for the good info so far, it seems that wiseco and probably other companys do have F22 pistons on the shelf or easily made because apparently that guy mentioned in here has them and got them for a reasonable price. I'll see what I find out tonight/tomorrow about some rod solutions

race engineering has F22 rods too.

why would you consider stock cast pistons for a boosted application? RSX or not they'll still break ringlands.

I was talking about aftermarked RSX shelf pistons, but actually larger bores are less susceptible to detonation which would decrease the likelyhood of breaking a piston, but since I found out they already have F22 pistons, especially since they are made by CP as long as my block is in spec I will most likely use those, after searching for hours, I also found some rods at http://www.importbuilders.com/rods.htm has anyone heard anything about these or used them?

eagle does not make f22/h23 rods, last time i checked. only major company that does have them off the shelf is crower but they are about $700 a set. ouch.

and those raceeng piston are made for them by Wiseco, so I wouldn't be worried about them.
