Hi, I already searched for emissions intake and emissions airbox, etc and found nothing..

just wondering, when I go to get my drive-up emissions testing done this week or next, will I fail or will they care that I have a shortie intake and no airbox? Btw it's an ebay black one with a foam filter and does not have any CARB sticker or labelling of any kind. Do I need to put on the airbox before the test? Or do they just check ECU readings and stuff?
I can't imagine ppl passing this thing with boosted Civics..how do they do it??

it's not worthless considering there's no other thread that can be easily found about this so it can be helpful to ppl other than me as well who don't know everything there is to know.

I just need to know the simple answer before I have to go within the next few days.

every state and every county has different emisions where do u live would help... where i live i have no emisions what so ever

They don't do a carb test in CT... I don't think...

It should pass fine, CT follows mostly the same basis as the NY/NJ laws...

i have a aem cold air with a carb number and when i had to take my car in for an emissions check the place i took it to told told me to replace it with the factory airbox cause they're not gonna test it. maybe cali is just strict cause it does have a carb sticker stating it is legal. now every time i have to get my car tested i throw on my oem intake and replace it after the test...

I dont think there is any emission testing over in the east coast i think? correct me if im wrong...but here in the west coast specifically California....my goodness you can barely pass visual with an aftermarket airfilter.

 

then how the expletive do u pass emissions with an aftermarket turbo???

by the way, today i passed within 5 minutes even with the intake on

 

Short ram does not do **** any ways so install the stock airbox if you want to be sure you will pass.

I correct you, you're wrong. There's emissions testing over here, it's just not ****-like like the state you live in.
