sfwd roll cage: bend around dash, or go through dash???
is it just preference when it comes to putting the roll cage through the dash or bending it around the front of the dash, im tlaking about the a-pillar bars of course. thank you.
oh hell yeah, thats what im going to do, just making sure that i can because i did a search and found very few cars like that. thank you, your the one who always chimes in on my questions. i appreciate it
no prob bro... i just hate the look of the "around the dash" kits.... + the through the dash should be stonger anyway.
doesn't it make the cage weaker when you bend it around the dash? I know nothing but it is just a thought.
And mine goes through the dash.

thank you for the pic, thats exactly what i was thinking about doing, beings there is already a hole in the dash there, or i was thinking about putting it more foward and just notching the dash on the two corners, that way i can still rmeove the dash if needed.

In theory, the fewer the bends the stronger the cage.
On top of that, like Dave said they are ugly, and they are harder to get in and out of when you go around the dash.

NO way! I LOVE it when people do cages that aren't tucked tight into the pillars, then bend all around the front of the dash. Looks sweet!
As you know Travis, we're a little **** so yea... DEFINATELY tight and through the dash.

I like how everyone has Scott's OLD 42R as their avatar now too! Looks like it's time to make a new one...
take the time now to go thru the dash - its well worth it. we did a infront of the dash cafe last year it passed tech but once we went 10.0s thy had us add another bar at the bottom which looked like crap not to mention made it even harder to get in and out of. the dash is easy to take out. also makes alot of parts open to get rid of....
are any of you trimming up the dash support (all that metal support bars in the dash)? i know you cant do much on the drivers side since it holds the steering.
we took out the factory bar that holds the column and added a bar to the cage to hold it up - plus adding it to the cage can only make it stronger ---

can you do this in sfwd? also do you have pictures? im leaning towards connecting it to the roll bar, just wasnt sure that a sfwd car could do that
