b18a head swap to a b18b??
So I currently have a b18a engine in my '91 hatch. I hear minor valve lash for a few minutes off and on after I start my car. A guy is selling his b18b head for $40 locally and I'm wondering if it will work on my obd0 b18a? I know it will work but will it require me to convert to obd1? Also I've heard the b head flows better, so that would be a plus.
Also, I'm concerned about the valve lash? Any easy way to solve this? I've noticed my timing belt "shakes" quite a bit when you rev it up....whats going on there?

The belt doesn't really seem loose, but it could be slightly loose. I'll go check tomorrow.
Would buying the b head be worth it for the valve lash and hp increase?

The B18B head does have larger intake ports than the B18A head. However, I could not tell you how much you would get in terms of HP gains on this motor, especially if you are not going to run either the P75 ECU (which has better fuel maps) or the B18B intake manifold (which has runners to match the ports). Speaking of the B18B manifold, without it, the larger ports won't help and could possibly hurt.
you won't have to convert to OBD1, i am running a B18b in my OBD0 Crx
As said before you aren't going to gain any real amount of power, just work with the valve adjustment and ifx your timing belt....in the long run it is going to cost alot more to do the head swap, unless you were planning on doing a new headgasket and new timing belt anyways
