Sticky hatch lock solenoid WTF
Wow, these little problems are sure a ****-off. The latest one, is I think a sticky hatch lock solenoid. I noticed it this afternoon when I went to open the hatch, but the damn hatch wouldn't open. The doors were unlocked via power locks already.
It seems like it takes a few minues or so for the solenoid to return to zero before it can release the trunk latch.
Anyone have this stupid problem???
TIA!

Very common problem for the DC2. Usually they get stuck in the open position. Fiddle with the handle to make sure it's back to normal before you close the hatch.
Try using your key next time, it makes a good backup mechanism. Mine is out of the car.

Thanks Chris. Using the key definately is a good backup, but I'm still waiting for working hatch shocks from a friend. Not only does the hatch not open now, it doesn't stay up
Anyone replace this solenoid and how much is the part itself?

74840-ST7-A01 = This is the part number for the actuator, and Baranco lists it at $56.18 on their site. I had the same problem with mine, but I just used the key from then on. However I did take it apart and found all the plastic gears were worn down to nothing. The link below is where I found it. I think the part # I listed is right.

I've been there too
I'm 99% sure I killed them when I forced it open in the bitter bitter cold, below zero F.
Are you from the USA or maybe UK? I can't remember..

Mines crapped out to but even $60 is too much money for me at this time.
