225/45/15 RA1 on 15x7 wheel on EG
Depends on the offset of the 15x7" wheel.
I had 15x7" Kosei K1s 45mm offset and 3mm spacers with 225/45x15" Hoosier A3S04s back in 2005. Didn't rub on my 91 Civic Si or my 00 Civic Si.

Kenji,
Those should be fine as long as you don't have a crazy offset wheel. If I remember correctly, your running the K1's like me right?
Welcome to the 225 club finally!

I used to run 225/45/15's (Toyo RA1's) on 15X7's on my EG. The rear fenders had to be rolled, but no rubbing issues, but it is reeaaalll tight.
I am running 205/50/15's now (the car is actually faster with 205's on high speed tracks like Mosport)

i'm hoping to eventually run 225/45/15's on the 15x7" team dynamics that I plan on getting.
FYI, It's 22.97" in diameter, so it won't effect gearing when compared to the 23.07" 205/50/15

I'm running 225/45/15 Hoosiers on Team Dynamics 15x7's on my ITR. You have to get offset right so tire won't rub on rear suspension trailing arm, and roll fenders. Basically add spacers and tune for minimum smoke! Tires are hard to mount, and life would be much better with 15x8's, as tire is really too wide for 15x7. Stiff rear springs and bar help to keep tire from going up into fender and touching lip, and this of course depends on how much the car is lowered. It works fine, but you need to get the details right.

Isn't that like running a 42+mm offset? Would you have been better off with the 38+ offset on the kosei's or was 42+ the magic number?

Should have been around 42mm offset. Anything more or less and you will rub the fender lip or the control arm/spring/shocks. It's close.
You could try to run lower offset but you need stiffer springs.

I use 45 mm offset Team Dynamics wheels with my 225/45/15 Hoosiers. On the front I do not need any spacers. Fender liners are removed and fenders are rolled, and seam between fender and body where it attaches above the tire has been hammered flat. At the rear I started with H&R 5 mm spacers and longer studs and found this was not enough. I now use 5/16" spacer (about 8 mm) and have very little rubbing on the rear suspension arm. That is equivalent to about 37 mm offset wheel at the rear and 45 mm at the front. There is still rubbing front and rear, but it is slight and only occurs rarely. My rear tires actually stick out a little past my fenders at the rear, but stiff suspension (800 lb springs, 26 mm Mugen bar) keeps them from actually touching the fender lip. Car is lowered a little more than one inch as I recall. This is on an ITR, so not sure what the differences are on an EG.

I'm running 225/45-15 Hankooks on a 15x7" +40mm wheel with no problems on my '91 CRX. You should be fine with the 225 RA1s on an EG. Hoosiers, OTOH, may pose some problems.

225-45-15 RA1 on a DC2 ITR w/no problems.
Wheels are 15x7 +38 Type C.
Springs are 14K F and 16K R.
It's clear that at a different ride height or with softer springs there would definitely be a problem in the rear, at the outside.

It is not just gearing, wider=heavier and more tire friction=slower

I ran it this weekend with great success! They barely fit, but they fit. The car feels a lot better, I like it! I think it'll improve my laptimes, we'll see when I go to Sears in Oct.
great to hear....ive recently been looking for decent tires that u can throw on 15x7 for autox and iv been debating on the RA1's or the azines. every where i look every one uses azenis so i was just gonna do RA1's just to try something different but its good to hear you had good success with them.
