Default High Compression Valve Inquiry

Okay, I currently have an 11:1 compression ratio. I'm looking to upgrade my valves. I'm looking at SuperTech valves. They make valves with all different kinds of compression. You can see them here.

http://www.importperformancepa....html

They have high comp valves for Preludes that have +0.5, +1.0, and +2.0. Does this mean that each valve is going to bring up my compression by that much? Or do they mean both valves will bring my compression up by that much?

If I got +1.0 Exhaust Valves (HEVN-1008) and +2.0 Intake Valves (HEVN-1009) Does that mean I'll be running a 14:1 compression ratio? Because that sounds pretty extreme. What's the highest I should get my compression ratio up to? I'm worried about blowing my motor.

And ofcorse I'm going to pick up nice Valve springs, titanium retainers, and camshafts.

Any clue?

the +.5 +1 and +2 are the mm's over the stock size that the valves are.

i'd say anything over 12.5:1 on the street, with the shitty gas that we get in cali is pushing it.

i also don't recommend going oversize with valves, just get flat face ones. but it's your build, do as you will with it

Okay, I'm gonna get the flat ones.

One more question...

Is it safe to run Stage2 Cams on my car with my factory ECU?

Or should I just get Stage1 Cams?

ECU Swapping is out of the question for me since I have ATTS.

has a point.
If anything, I'd get stage 1's if you are really wanting cams... just because its not gonna be as big a deal w/ stock ecu as stage 2's will be...

Cams are only one peice of a puzzle to get you more power.

Like if you put some huge cams in, you'd have to increase rev limit, Get a big P & P job, lots of tuning, valvetrain, etc....it takes work.

This guy is confused, there are oversized valves and there are higher compression valves which are 2 different things, the oversized valves are larger in diameter and the high compression valves have a thicker face which adds compression to your motor. If you are going to be using the factory ecu I would not do either and just stick with oem style valves nor would I use cams on with your factory ecu, and also one thing to keep in mind, high compression valves weigh alot more than regular valves, this not only will call for stiffer valvesprings, but will also promote valveseat wear, if you want to get more serious with mods, swap to a base tranny and get a EMS

just because he has an SH doensnt mean he is fucked!

god I dont know why people are so stuck on this face

Greddy E-Manage Ultimate......ALLOWS YOU TO KEEP ATTS

OMG hard fact to swallow.

He is NA.....he will not get up t the limit window where ATTS will cut out. And if it ever does cut out, its just 100 pounds. Unless your drag racing, or doing anything serious its not going to be noticable, but his driving style will change since he will no have ATTS to assist his driving.

Okay, I've called to confirm, the Greddy E-Manage Ultimate does indeed allow the ATTS to continue working. Their ECU reprogramming system works in the fact that it is a piggy back system that work off of your stock ECU. Which explains why the Hondata ECUs/chips disable the ATTS from working. Thanks madcatz for the big advice. I think I'll go Stage 2 now.
