yeah i use it.

decent results. brought back my rio red. but that was the first time ive really ever tried to detail my car at the time.

(really old pic before digital cameras)

but it takes a lot of time, especially if youre doing it by hand. set aside the whole afternoon. do it in the shade as directed.

now i have a berlina black s2000. man, that needs a lot of attention to look good. im going to get a buffer so i can do things right. doing it by hand just doesnt do it justice. i couldnt take out swirls by hand, as black brings out imperfections so easily.

but honestly, if you still have stock paint, do a claybar treatment and then just use some 1 step cleaner wax. its all included in the meguairs caybar kit. i wouldnt put so much effort into old paint.

claybar does wonders alone for old surfaces.

It's not bad I just rather use other things.

Mothers Claybar works great.

I would suggest doing this..

Clean car with soap "Meguiars"
Clay the car "mothers or Meguiars"
Stage 1 Meguiars cleaner wax
Stage 2 Mothers polish
Stage 3 Meguiars NXT

The outcome will look damn good, but your arm will be killing you all night

btw, "cleaner wax" is an all purpose wax. its kind of a "1-step" polish and wax. but mainly a wax.

you want to use the meguairs step 1, cleaner. thats a true cleaner (kind of a rough polish, it WILL take off some of your old paint). it wouldnt make sense to wax before polish.

but like i said, all those steps are REALLY tedious. claybar and "cleaner wax" is good enough imo. meguiars claybar kit comes with a detail spray and a small bottle of cleaner wax, and a decent yellow microfiber towel. although, i recommend you buy another set of microfibers to apply and clean up the wax and save the yellow towel for later detailing and keep it in the car with the towel so its clean and do touch ups.

My problem is that a couple of my body panels faded differently than the rest of the car. I don't know if it's salvageable or not without a respray. Same suggestions with that? Guess it wouldn't hurt...

ha, i was always known as having "5 shades of rio red". there was so much accident history with it.

its up to you how much you want to spend time on your car's looks.

i guess now that i have my s2000, i want to spend more time on that than the crx.

i jsut washed both cars today. crx just got a wash, i washed and waxed the s2000. i need to claybar the passenger door tho

haha, dunno about the accidents but it's very strange how the panels are different colors. The hood, bumper and doors and one color, and the fenders and rear panels are another shade. What's interesting is I stumbled across this picture (which I believe to be a Honda ad??) and it looks like the front fender is dif shade as well...

Am I crazy?

Anyway, I'm gonna try this stuff out guys. Thanks!

on the panels that i know are original (driver side was resprayed due to accident) its all fairly consistent on my y-49. consistently FADED, but consistent.
