Default help me diagnose this problem :/

Ok, basically i just swapped a b16a2 in my ek about a month ago. The first 2 weeks the car ran fine. a little over a week ago I was driving the car and all of a sudden the car started bogging/loss of power. it sounded like a subaru heh. so i drove home and was like wtf? no check engine light. next morning start the car up and it starts fine. so since then my car has on/off been doing this. the engine will shake, sound funny, and bog and have no power, then the next moment it will be fine. it will even go back and forth like this while driving.

im runing obd1 chipped p06 running a b16 map. I have put brand new spark plugs, plug wires, dizzy cap/rotor, new belts, new timming belt, all new fluids.

odd thing is this started to happen the same day that i recharged my a/c and had anew muffler installed, dont know if that can have any to do with this. another thing is I find when I disconnect the evap it will run like this and when i reconnect it it will run fine for a lil bit then go back to shitty. dunno.

ive tried alot of things, i just cant figure out what it could be now. any help will be appreciated. Thanks

thanks, another thing is that when the car runs rough , i can fell the exhaust fumes 3 feet behind my car shooting out, when normally i dont feel very much putting my hand right up to the muffler. kinda odd too.

check your engine grounds. Especially the thermostat ground

Also Test your Ignition Coil and ICM.

ill do that, but if it was any of those things would it just happen randomly while i drive? if one of them was bad wouldnt it be a constant thing?

ya there is really no warning signs when those components fail.. they just die and leave u stranded. this is why i carry a electrical box with spare coils and ICM's.. also have spare Distributors in the box as well. People that break down will pay a good amount of money to get rolling right away.

not all of the cylinders are firing, its pretty obvious.

i would try a different cap, or test each plug by leaving them connected to the wires are having a friend turn the motor over. you may have your firing order wrong. could also be a bad injector.

im guessing its your firing order. recheck your plug wires and let me know. you may just have a loose plug wire.

ok well i pulled the plugs and on cylinder 1 the plug had some oil on it :/. the other plugs didnt, they were just a lil black. I think it could be the rubber gasket things for the spark plugs in the valve cover, u think this could be the problem. i hope the engine is ok.

I'm curious as to how a crack would form there. Might sound silly but are your cam caps tightened down?

yea i have no idea how that would get there. i wonder if its been like that, wondering if it happened when i swapped the motor in. yea the cam caps are fine. im pretty sure that oil on the plug would cause the misfire, i just dont wanna buy a new icm or coil :/

the engine shaking is from it only running on 3 or 2 cylinders. you need to check for spark. if you have spark at all 4 plugs, and your order is right, check for fuel.

yep replaced pretty much everything when swapped. car ran fine for 2 weeks, this just started happening. and this probem will come and go daily. ill be driving down the road and it will all of a sudden lose power and shake/bog . then it will go back to normal. but all day today the car has been runing rought like its on 3 cylinders.
