o2 sensor help!
okay i have a 1995 civic cx and it has a B16a2 swap in it and the motor is obd2 but was converted over to obd1 and i am currently using a 1 wire o2 sensor at the moment! Is that right? because i purchased a 4 wire o2 sensor cuz people told me i needed a 4 wire not a 1 wire/? My engine light is on also thats probably the reason i think!? also we tried seeing if we could get the code and the engine light stayed on the whole time no blinking at all HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dont know how myself. how do you do it? and some guy did it for me and the blinking engine light its suppose to blink well it stayed on the whole time no blinking but my srs light did start blinking!
my v tec dont work eiher! it just makes a deep sound but its not V tec,...
SHORTENED= B16a2,
obd2 engine turned to obd1
1 wire o2 sensor on at the moment(is it suppose to be a 4 wire o2 sensor)
no v-tec
engine light

hey i have a question... if my 02 senser is 4 wires, can i sauder 1 wire to connect to all 4 wires from the 02 senser? cuz yea i just got new headers and my 02 senser is in the back of my headers near the cat and it originally was in the front of my stock headers and yea i have to lengthen the wire for it to reach ya knoe what im saying? but yea i have to solder the wires togehter and what do you suggest the best thing to use between the soldering? example: electricle tape or shrink wrap or anything similar? idk just hit me back asap k? thank...
aye i have another question... is it bad to run a car without the o2 senser connected? like i have a old o2 senser in the o2 senser port but the wires are cut off. i just put it there to cover up the hole in my headers ya knoe? idk but hit me bacC asap k? thanks guys
if the O2 was in the front and now it's underneith the wires should be really close to the right lenght if you pull them out of the harness and rerun them.
the four wires required are required to be four wires.
your existing wire can be sued for the O2 signal, all though you will have to add the other three
one for the O2 ground to the ground at the thermostat housing.
one for the heater power to the yellow/black wires at the driver's shock tower
one for the heater control that runs to the ECU.
shrink wrap is always a better bet than electrical tape. Electrical tape tends to come off over time.
no O2 connected will give you two CELs, which will run the car rich and retard the ignition timing.
The car should be ok but certainly not at it's best.

oh ic... but yea i only got one skinny wire that i have to sauder on to the wires from the 02 senser... should i just buy a thicker wire or do i actually have to buy 3 other wires and sauder them all together to be connected. cuz right now the type of wire i have is 16 Ga. 10.6 m. is that good or should i go a lil thicker of wireing? idk send back asap. thanks for the help tho dood
16g will be fine.
be careful soldering to the white wire, depending on where you splice into it... it's actually not a single wire like it looks. there is an internal wire and a shield around it in the same wire. connecting them together will cause the O2 to be grounded and not work.
As long as you stick to withing 2-3 inches of an existing connector you should be fine.
