oxygen sensor question????

oxygen sensor question????
i want to put a new header on my 2000 civic d16y7 but i am confused about what to do with the second o2 sensor...?? can i just take it out? if i do will the check engine light always be on?
i was also told that i would need to get a obd1 to obd2 adapter and a new ecu if i dont want the engine light always on...is this true??
is there an easier way around this problem??
can i take the second o2 sensor and wire it in to the other one so that they both read the same signal???

NO YOU CAN'RT wire them together.
you either have two options the one you wrote or get an o2 simulator for the cat. then your set.

can i ask you another stupid question then .. what is an o2 simulator ? how do i get one/ wheredoes it go / what does it do?
