i heard that the 1g B16 VTEC solenoid is better than ITR.. coz its bigger. make the vtec kick harder and sounds louder when VTEC kicks in.


is that true?

 

unless it flows more oil it wont make any difference.
This whole bigger is better thing gets taken too far.

 

i dunno if it was the VTEC solenoid...but this dude with an ITR was running a 14.1 all the time...then he changed his solenoid and went back to the track with same setup...and ran 13.9s

 

14.1 and 13.9 times are too damn close. I doubt it's the solenoid that got him faster times. There are other factors that come in when it comes to drag racing.

As far as the actual solenoid goes. As long as it flows oil during VTEC activation I don't think big or small makes a difference.

The Vtec sol is basically a switch, It opens , lets oil through and activates The second lope. That's it ! , If you hear the Vtec sound, Its working! You can't activate Vtec any harder ! Somebody is dreaming,
"Maybe Spoon makes one even better !"

 

Please tell me more about this Spoon VTEC solenoid.
