Default please help tranny problems............

okay i picked up an auto integra recently. the dood says o i think the motors blown so i give him 400 bux for it knowing the motor cant be blown because its trying to start and sounds like it has good compression, buh either way even if it is, its still a 95 integra for 400 bux. Well lucky me it was just a fuel pump and coil. Easy fix like i hoped. Well the first night i take the car out i get on the highway drive across town stop at a friends house for an hr or so. Then when i get ready to leave, i drive about 5 blocks down the street and start to get on tha highway. Motor juss revs up like the trannys slipping?!?!?!?!. It catches again long enough for me to pull it to the side of the road. SO i get a ride and go home for the night. I come back the next day to tow it and it starts right up and drives onto the trailer, get it home drive it around the block and it seems fine. I'm not an automatic person this is only my 2nd auto ever out of 30+ vehicles and i have no clue whats wrong. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Unless you wanna sell me a 5spd integra for the same price, no thanks lol. I actually was thinking about doing a 5spd conversion on it if i dont get this resolved soon, buh as of now kinda tight on $ so would like to try and save the auto. I juss did a auto to 5spd on my 95 ex 4dr and i got it all done in a day, and didnt cost me **** bcuz i already had all the parts laying around the garage, but i have a good feeling im not gonna be finding a cheap b series tranny oh so easy.

Sounds like the torque converter isnt working properly. Cheap possibe fix: drain and refill the tranny.

did a drain and fill yesterday w some BG soft shift additive. Seemed to be fixed till car warmed up and then it did it again. So i shut off the car and waited about 10 mins and it drove home. luckily i was only a block from my house this time, lol.

One other thing is, Im using a thicker style EG radiator, instead of an integra radiator, could it not be cooling the tranny down enough? I figured it would be fine considering em1s use the half size radiator, buh im not sure as far as cooling down the transmission?

When an auto tranny goes out, there's not a whole lot you can do. A new torque converter would be a wise choice.

Just get a used tranny. Should be cheap and easy to find.
