Default Let's talk about motor mounts.

There are tons of aftermarkter motor mount out there. Some price higher then other.

Are there any real difference in then? Beside paying for name brand.

hasport is by far the best ive seen for ek's. i really like how the mount itself mounts to the frame rail and not the tranny like the avids i bought.

the problem with avids is the mount mounts to the tranny and the bracket mounts to the frame rail...the problem there is that the stud on the tranny closest to the firewall sits lower and does not expose enough threads for a nut nor does the mount form to the tranny for the lower stud. kinda lame.

heard good things about hasport, az race machine and innovative, nothing but bad about avid, as far as fitment goes. i did however just use one bolt and one nut on the upper tranny mount since it wouldnt work liek i just explained.

i only used the upper driver side motor mount and upper tranny, not the rear. this is on my b16a in my ej8, no problems with durability so far and i beat on it alot, for about 1000 miles now.

pretty much all of them are a good idea. inserts are a bandaid and do an okay job but are not my first pick.

The best thing they can do for you, is keep the motor from moving around - this reduces weight shift, and, by keeping the tranny in place for example, it can help keep the alignment of the axle more 'ideal' to where it should be....which helps to prevent/reduce wheel hop.

In essence, if you're drag racing semi-seriously, it'll be one of the better investments you can make in your 'suspension' or more creatively, your 'traction system'. and remember kids.... horsepower is useless if its not in contact with the pavement.
