Default Help with H23 pistons

I've recently come across an H23 Engine, Trans, Ecu, and Harness for the amount of $500. The block has already been machined and cylinder walls are now .40 over. I'm needing suggestions on Pistons and Rods. If I can keep from having to order custom pistons, then awesome. I'm going to try to keep low compression as I already have a turbo kit on the way. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

H23 sleeves are FRM so unless you have iron ones on order JE or SRP or Wiesco or whatever will not work.

Do you mean 0.040", or maybe 0.40mm? Either way I don't think you will find OEM pistons that size because that is well beyond the "oversize" hone limit on FRM bores; so I think you will have to sleeve the block at this point. But since you are planning for a turbo that is what you would probably want to do anyway. There are several aftermarket forged pistons available that would work well with a sleeved H23. Good luck.

sleeve it, and build an h23vtec. Some custom pistons and type-s rods

if he was going to sleeve it... and build it... why would he want to use type-s rods?

my bad, type-s pistons hung on h23 rods, would give ya a nice, nearly 10.5:1 compression. So scratch my type-s rod mistake.

I think I saw an "issues w/ valve clearance: Type S pistons/rods" topic somewhere on here recently... but I also think that was for h22. Anyone seen this?

uh...and how did you come up with this number? the Type-S piston is 11.0:1 compression with the h22 crankshaft, using it with an H23 crankshaft raises the CR not lowers it, this has been gone over many times to try and figure out the CR this yeilds and there is a thread on here that has the size of all the different F and H series heads and all the specs you need to figure it out, but it's something like 12:1 I'm sure someone here knows it or will spend a minute or 2 and plug it in their calculator

Pardon the stupidity but....FRM? Please explain the difference. I understand that the bore is probably too big but I'm buying it this way already. Is there not any piston compatible with this FRM stuff you're talking about? If this turns out to be a problem should I just try to build the jdm F22B bottom end with the H23 parts? From what I can tell they are the exact same engine. Anyways...thanks again for the help. Sorry about all the questions...still new to Honda engines.
