so i just got an alignment after i lowered my civic. the car still pulls hard to the right. when i keep the steering wheel straight it drives straight. but once i let go of the steering wheel it goes to the right pretty fast. the alignment was done right (buddy at honda did it). the car literally when HARD right before the alignment. i pulled the right wheel off tonight and i saw that my outer tie rod boot is ripped up. could this be causing my pull? the pull only occurs when im on the gas. it only slightly pulls when im off the gas.

 

that tie rod has to be out of alignment, bend, or damaged, I dont see any other reason why it would do that, other than that caliper grabbing, wrong size tire, or a bad ball joint on the tie rod itself, look at getting them replaced.

caliper is not grabbing. tires are the same all the way around the car. i will just try to place the outer tie rod itself tomorrow.

 

so i just put in the order for a outer tie rod end for my passenger side. honda will have it tomorrow morning for me. i really hope this fixes the pull. can any confirm that a ripped boot on the tie rod can cause a hard pull to one side when accellerating?

 

A ripped boot on any balljoint will only do one thing. It will let dust in. Over time the dust can wear out the balljoint & allow slop. If there is slop, you can easily find it by jacking the car up & shaking the tire left/right & up/down. Any play will make noise & be quite easy to track down...

You should have gotten a print-out with your allignment. What are your current settings?

If your caster & camber are significantly different from left to right, the car will pull. My CRX has perfect toe settings, but caster is off on one side and it pulls quite a bit to the right. My caster is a normal +3* on the left, but almost 0* on the right. The lack of caster on the right allows the left tire to push the car to the right. I can clearly see that my right tire has been pushed slightly rearward in the wheel well (not centered). Combine that with less caster than stock, and it tells me that I must have a Lower Control Arm that is bent rearward on that side...

Are both your front tires perfectly centered in the wheel well?

 

a mechanic told me that if your tie rod bushings are bad then it will cause your car to pull to the let or right depinding on which side is bad

I wonder if you mechanic knows that there are NO bushings in Honda tie rods...

..or that the muffler bearings needed replacement.
