car not always starting .....trouble!!!
ok so i have a 95 civic coupe dx. my car has power but it dies as i try to start it like it loses power. so every where i go i have to park on a hill soo i can pop the clutch. my battery is putting out about 13.5 volts when i get it started and take off the cables. which also tells me when i take off the cables and it still runs then my alternator should be good. when the alternator is hooked up it runs at about 14.5 volts and i am wondering if i should replace my battery and cables or if im just missing something. there is a lil corrosion i found today but not enuf to not start it. i also went out one morning b4 i turned on the car and tested my battery and it was at 10.5 while it was cold in the morning. i need any help.
you could be having an issue with your starter solenoid. or, it could be grounding somewhere a tad bit when it shouldn't. you'll always have a higher volt reading with alternator than with the battery. how old is the battery? is it possible that you check your car with another battery?
