technically you do. it is 9.99 or 135, but most tracks are a little lenient on the 135, but if you rip off a 160 i can see why they would boot you. someone made a thread about licensing looking for it now.

you also have to become a nhra member, and get your permanent comp number. you do need to apply for a lisc.
go to http://www.nhra.com i am pretty sure there is a lisc page.

150 mph is the parachute cutoff. its all dependant on the officials, i ran 137 all day last week, not a word about it, then today they called me to my car, and told me i was done

like i said the 9.99 is enforced more than the 135 depends on the track.

It is the tracks decision. One of our local tracks lets people run 10's with a lap belt and no helmet and the other little 1/8th mile track complained because my street tires didn't have metal valve steams and my factory battery tie down didn't have thick enough bolts.

It all DEPENDS on what track you are at. They can be lenient or they can be ******.
But the only reason the rules are there is for our own safety. I don't really want to be racing against someone that is running a friends car with no license/experience and have him cross into my lane at 135+ because he's not used to having to crank the wheel to correct the car because there is only 7 psi of pressure in the tires. Rules are rules and you cant bitch if you they wont let you run. Most of the time you know if you're legal or not.

That's right, the rules are the same at all tracks, just depends if they enforce them or not. Just go run NOPI, then don't really enforce much. lol I ran about 15 9 sec. passes w/o my liscense, most at NOPI. First NHRA event i went to i got 1 warning and then i was done. So now i have my liscense. It's not hard to get, just gotta go through the process.

is it just the physical and the 6 passes with 2 licensed drivers to sign off, and the track official to sign off too??? does the car have to be 9 sec legal or 135 legal, there are loop holes and differences in the rules
Two runs after you left they kicked me out to. They were cool with 35-36 but as soon as i got to 38 they were waithing for me at the time booth.
