i believe this is the integra forum haha...and i would turbo a gsr because its a better motor overall. But any turbocharged motor is only as good as its tuning so get a really good tuner of its not gonna last. and as for the transmission question...the LS transmission has longer gearing so gsr would be a better choice. just my .02

i think he meant gsr turbo. read the op and you see how he compare gsr turbo vs. lsv turbo. i think if you were to build it correct, and get it tune. both of them is reliable.

i would want the gsr motor myself because it is more reliable, but then the question is how good of a tuner you can get. the question about the transmission, i would want the LS tranny because of the longer gears. Longer gears equals longer boosting periods. but thats just my opinion.

gsr is more reliable but i think the lsv would hold more boost. i would rather go for gsr though imo.

ive had LS turbo, LSv turbo, and GSR turbo. Obviously both my LS and GSR motors were very reliable but the LSv made some big power.

GSR turbo and i wouldn't look back

What! longer boosting periods? What do you mean? The revs will higher on the shorter GSR tranny, so it would be easier to stay in boost. Since boost is determined by the amount of exhaust, as long as your foot is down and you're maintaining at least a certain RPM and throttle position, you should be able to stay in boost as long as you want until you let up. The shorter GSR tranny will make it easier to maintain the revs necessary to maintain boost. Although it's not going to make any difference once you get halfway through 1st unless your turbo isn't spooling until 6k rpm.

Shifting more often won't really affect it either since the turbo is going to stay spooled for the split-second it takes to shift.

Why do people say this ****?

Acceleration will be faster when you can pull through the powerband faster. The only reason to opt for a longer geared tranny would be so that a car with a high trap speed won't have to shift into 5th. A shorted geared tranny will always accelerate faster than a longer geared tranny.

so if a Ls/v and a GSR were both fully built with the same turbo, same bore, same crank.... ect. the ls/v would still make more power?? and if built and tuned right would still be as reliable as the GSR

You have to shift more often with shorter gears whice can actully be slower than having longer gears.

no b series transmission is short enough to make that a valid reason for going with the longer gears

if done the right way lsvtec turbo would pump out more power and still be reliable...if u dont have much money to invest in an engine like that...then the most reliable one i can say is ls turbo..with a simple turbo kit not running too much boost is very reliable...remember TUNING is the key factor...gsr turbo is great too...
