Default GSR no vtec on 1 or 2 gear but can feel it on 3rd gear why?

my freind has a gsr integra and his mods are intake, exhuast, skunk 2 intake manifold, aftermarket clutch. Stop p72 obd1 ECU, one first and 2nd gear there is no vtec but on third gear you can hear the vtec kick in between 6-7 rpms? We have check the oil level, change oil and filters. Can it be a bad ground somewhere? What can it be?

there are no secondaries; cause he has a skunk 2 intake manifold but in 1st and 2nd gear it feels like a LS motor cause vtec doesn't kick in...it only kicks in on 3rd gear...i never heard of this before

Maybe you need to upgrade your butt dyno?

i think after installing a intake manifold you need a dyno tune.

Oh my bad, in that case somethings seriously screwed with the *** dyno because vtec should be engaging in at 4400 rpms. My guess is its operating just fine, how about you unplug it and see if you think its kicking in after taking a test drive without it.

Could you "feel" it before?

1st and 2nd gear usually go by so quickly I doubt I'd notice.
