i have the b18c p72 obd1 ecu and during my searchin i found the p28 what is that ecu? cause i think my motor is running rich cause i get some black smoke after the butterflys open when im goosen it haha so i figure mayb try to get my ecu chipped and get a street tune from my friend hes got crome and uperdata software... and i looked on j-k-tuning and they dont have a p72 they just have a p28

 

I believe the P28's are for the EG civics, ex and si's specifically, and I dont remember those coming in twin cam so unless you friend can do magic with uberdata I think a p72 is the way to go, has your motor always done this or did this just start happening?

 

well i never realized it when i first got the motor but i recently did all exhaust work from header, to high flow cat, to catback system so could it be running rich cause i have that free flowing exhaust now?

 

probably not, but something else could be wrong, like a part went out or something, how are the 02 sensors?

 

check light isnt on...
