Default y8 mini-me running obd1, which edelbrock manifold?

Yeah, so i have a a6/y8 mini-me and was thinking about getting a Edelbrock Performer X intake manifold. They make a different one for the z6 and y8. I'd think i want the y8 because it's the head but the z6 i'm sure is for obd1 (which i'm running)... and then i remember that people run y8 manifolds on all the d-series so does it even matter?

Thanks for the help.

Do you have i/h/e and an aftermarket cam? If not, get those first.

yeah,,,and the y8 intake manifold is one of the best anyway....dont get that huge X manifold from edelbrock unless you have turbo or fully built high compression motor,,,,cause its pointless

i know 2 people that have this manifold on cars with less mods than me and they have both said that it loses no power down low with noticible gains up top. Don't confuse the d-series manifold with the b-series as that is WAY too big unless you're turbo.

And the only thing you listed i don't have is a cam. And i have a a6 manifold on it right now, not a y8.

As far as Edelbrock being for rednecks, i normally would agree, but what manifold is better for the d-series and isn't $500+? I can't wait to hear your response.

skunk2 would be a better choice but like 91z6 said get a cam first
edelbrock is way too much for your setup

How often are you at the top of your rpm range during daily driving as opposed to how often you're at the lower and middle rpm range? Exactly. There is a method to building a motor.

What better IM can you get? Don't even worry about it right now. But hey, it's your money to waste.
