Default 4th Gen w/o PS?

My power steering rack is leaking and a Honda remanufactured power steering rack is $350-$400. Too much for me right now. I'm in the middle of a rotor-over-hub job and can't afford the rack.

Would it be to hard driving w/o it?...power steering that is?

My 91 Accord's PS didn't seem to work, but very little cause I couldn't turn the wheel from one direction to the other rapidly. It had to be in slow motion.

And my CRX's and Civic's never had PS in them. But they were also a whole lot lighter than my 92 Accord.

its easier in the civic/crx because the cars are both lighter and the tires are smaller too, I would say it wouldnt be that bad once you get going but itll be a pain in parking lots, other than that I guess you cant do much about it even if you wanted to, so start saving up I guess....

i have a 4th gen with no p/s and it is no problem at all as long as you have stock steering wheel and not a aftermarket wheel they are smaller and cause problems turning much harder

ive been driving without p/s in my 4th gen for years. if you leave the lines connected to the pump, itll be harder than if you took the two lines off the pump and bypassed it... mines bypassed and i like the feeling of it, it feels good on the road, and its manageable in parking lots. the car is heavy, but its not too bad.

you could try it for a while, and if you dont like it, switch back eventually. you know how it feels, itll only be a bit harder than what youve felt.

put the tip of the hard line's fitting into the end of the suction line that leads to the bottom of the pump, and use a hose clamp to hold it there.
