Default My new setup. Judge it...

Hey everyone. I heard that since they're is no all-motor forum, this is where most of the N/A guys post. Hope I heard right. For 2 yrs my b18c1 powered EG (EH2) has been stock. But I finally got a job that pays decent money and they accomadate my school schedule. So I ordered some parts!!!

Here's what I go on the car so far:
98 B18c1
JDM DC Headers (DEI wrapped)
2.5" ID Mandrel Bent Piping
Apexi N1 Muffler
Test Pipe
Skunk 2 Intake manifold
Hondata Phenolic Spacer
Bypasses IACV + TB
ACT Extreme PP and Street disc

Here's what I have to install:
Jun Stage III Cams
Jun Ultra-lite Ti Retainers
Jun Dual Valvesprings
ITR Intake valves
Hondata stage2
JDM ITR pistons w/ rings
Exedy Organic clutch

What I will have in less than a month:
Fidanza Flywheel
440cc Injectors
SupraTT fuel pump

How much wheel horsepower am I looking at making? What times in my 2075lb hatch on 22*7*13 slicks? Street tires?

I plan on building a block later on but the cams, pistons, and hondata.. Plus tires, wheels, gsr disc brakes, bushings, rotors etc has left me BROKE! I wanna throw a LS crank in my GSR block, and get it sleeved by GE, around 85mm Im guessing, Ross or JE pistons, Eagle rods...Then a portflow head.

So, judge my setup.

I think your header might be limiting pretty soon.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I think when this setup is up and running I'll dyno it and see what it makes, then switch headers and see what I gain from a high end header such as a Hy-tech race header or a SMSP header. Or I might just wait til I build the sleeved block.

BTW: 85mm Bore + 89mm stroke = 2020cc's.

Why not, easy to come by, and with Hondata I won't have a problem controlling them. Who knows if one day ill get mad and change out the pistons from 12.5:1 to 9.5:1, loose the cams, and strap on a turbo kit...440's would be nice.

I would but I dont make enough money to boost my car the way I'd like to. Whether I go all-motor/turbo/nitrous i want to go all out. All out all motor on costs maybe 7-10G's after EVERYTHING is done, i mean ITB's, haltech, tuning, race head, etc...while with boost i can spend over 20grand in my head in a matter of seconds...

Think of the built block im planning on making. That's like 2G's, then add 7000 worth of turbo parts, manifold, turbo, air/water, piping, exhaust...then another 3G's for engine management and tuning...Speedpro or AEM..it all adds up. Plus more problems than all-motor and this is my only car for now...

All motor all day (for now..)

Why the Exedy organic over the Xtreme/ss clutch? You should be making enough power for that xtreme still?

that apexi n1 muffler might be a bit restrictive if it's the 60mm one........

My ACT is worn out, I know it holds more power than the Exedy, but it's beginning to chatter a little bit for some reason. I think I broke part of the disc, or maybe cracked a pressure plate tooth. I got the Exedy cheap, and everyone said it was good so I bought it. It's been in my garage for like 7months, waiting for the ACT to blow, which still hasn't happened...

Im not sure about the muffler. The piping is 2.5" ID mandrel bent, and that n1 is straight thru design. It's just a pipe from the header back pretty much. Maybe I should step up to 2 3/4" or 3" piping with a turbo apexi N1 muffler, but I think that might kill my bottom end.

Sell your all motor parts (i.e. cams, valvetrain, etc) and keep the parts you can still use with boost (injectors, Hondata, etc). You'll go waaay faster and spend a lot less money than an all motor setup.

its a shame you did all that work and limited yourself with a JDM itr piston... should have at LEAST used a CTR.... if not some type of forged piston.

And yeah that header definetly has to go.

I think your slicks may be a little too narrow as well... should try an 8 inch

Next step would be that block for a good street all motro setup. You can lay down at least 210HP with a better block and with what you have and install now. With a ported head, you can get another 10-15 out ofthat.

Personally, if I was driving it daily, I’d stick with a stock bore stage 3 or 4. But if you go stage 4, might as well go big like 85mm but I wouldn’t drive it as much.

Like I said I will be building a bloc later, but for 300 now I can throw JDM ITR pistons in there and have a few extra ponies. With Civic Type R pistons my compression will be a little high.

Just a quick note: stroke on a B18C1 is 87.2mm. B18B stroke is 89mm.
85mm bore x 87.2mm stroke=4.25 x 4.25 x 8.72 x 3.14 x 4 = 1978.2628 cc's.
Still very respectable displacement.
My engine: 84mm bore x 87.2mm stroke = 4.2 x 4.2 x 8.72 x 3.14 x 4 = 1931.989248 cc's.
