Default Need an idea on cost of a H22 + manual tranny swap

I am strongly considering purchasing a 93 accord EX from a friend at work. It's an ex with automatic tranny (Uggh) and on of the non VTEC crappy 4cyl engines.

She isn't wanting much for the car ($3000) w/a little over 100,000 miles on it. Clean, good shape. I am gonna drive it as is for a little while, but I was wondering what a good estimate would be to put a H22a or H23 engine in.....I would be doing my own work on it. I found the http://www.h22a.com website, but wasn't sure how much the h22 was w/accessories. If I could..I'd like to buy the H22 brand new, if not..I'll go for used. Does anyone know about what that will cost new or used?

Also...about how much is it for the manual tranny new or used?

I really appreciate any assistance you could offer. I got my OSR2 accord, but it's actually running pretty well. It was more responsive to the cold air and exhaust than I thought it would...runs pretty decent. I want an H22 though.

Well used will be yer only affordable option seeing new will cost probably cost $$$, remember the H22 is no longer in production. So expect to pay about $2600 shipped for a 92-96 JDM H22 w/tranny.

Then figure about $1000 in 5sp parts, maintenance items, and some new bolt-on parts.

Sweet....$4000 for the stuff + $3000 for the car wouldn't be that bad of an investment. Thanks for the info.

Crap it's a 92 Accord instead of a 93. The h22a complete swap kit on http://www.hondamotorsonline.com/ is for a 93-00 car. Is there that big of a difference in the engine compartment? Or should that one work?

The H22 will fit fine a 92, it's the same car.
