Ground Control Spring Rates for a DC? Recommendations please
I hate to be one of those guys that's like "what should I do?!?!?!", but I couldn't find much info when I searched. I've got a full interior Integra GS-R that I daily, auto-x, and drag race; and hope to be taking to some lapping days soon. I want to know a couple things:
-Standard GC rates for DC's
-What rates people have found to be successful and manageable for the things that I want to do (see above)
-What rates will create neutral or slightly tail happy characteristics
I'm looking to pair GC's w/Koni Yellows, but I need to get an idea of what's worked for people. Thanks.
BTW, if anyone in the Detroit area has a solid susp. setup and wants to give me a ride in their car... I'm interested.

the shelf GC for the DC2 i believe are 380F and 280R.
I'd go 400/400 and a nice rear anti-sway bar. I have 400F and 375R and its not harsh at all for me. Still a bit of understeer, but hopefully the 22mm ASR kit i'm getting soon will help aliviate that. I'm also thinking about getting 450 or 475 rear rates.

hmmm, OTS (380/280) seems a bit too soft for me. 400/400 sounds like it might work based on what I'm looking for. I'd like to have a fairly stiff setup, but at the same time, it'd be nice to get away with softer springs if I can compensate by getting a beefy rear sway. Thanks for the input.

I just read something interesting on wheel rate (effective spring rate), and for an Integra, to get what I want, something like 450/400 is what I should be going for. This setup actually favors a small bit of oversteer. I pulled this info from TeamIntegra, I"ll try looking for the link a little later.

Yeah, tires will make a huge difference in your ride quality. I run 350/450 on my eg hatch and its not bad at all.
My last hatch had 350/400 with a 23mm rear sway and it handled great.

I've been driving my 00 GSR on Konis and 400/400 GCs for the last year. Full interior, daily driver / auto-x / HPDE car. I also have a Comptech rear swaybar set on stiffest, and GC upper mounts in the front.
1) Its acceptable for the street. Feels really good, acutally. Too soft in the front though, depending on the drop. I bottom out regularly with a 2 finger gap.
2) I do get mid to late corner understeer during auto-x sweepers. I'm going to up the rear rate relative to the front to try and correct this. Turn in is fantastic, with a nice controlled oversteer, but then it fades into understeer as the turn progresses.
I'm going to move to much stiffer rates, but I think 400/400 is a great starting point, to find what will work best for you, given the dual nature of your car. If you want neutral or slightly tail happy, you're going to need more rear spring, especially without a nice stiff swaybar. I also noticed that I have much better turn in with the 4.3* caster I currently have, but it definately has an effect on bumpsteer, so be prepared before you play with that.

i run 450 up front and 380 in rear w/itr rear sway bar and an asr brace on my dc. the car handles great and the ride isnt too harsh.
