Default my d16a6 beat most ls's...

my a6 is really strong for some reason. well it used to beat most ls's i raced but now i have a bouncing idle problem and i cant fix it... swapped heads for mini-me then changed mind and swapped back now i have the idle bounciing problem... if it is the IACV or FITV... where are those and how do i fix it? any pics of it would help... i jss want my Rex back to normal.... plzzz helppp.... im visiting my dad in oklahoma right now i go back home in a few days and i want to devote my time to fixing it right when i get back... what do i do....replies would help plz thnx alot... later yo'....

which is it? IACV or FITV


what cel is showing up?need more info on it.where u having the idle prob with the vtec head?

the a6 head. when the car is at rest the idle is bouncing between 900 and 1800 and it wont stop... any advice? aiit later yo'

ive seen it happen before an its some kinda valve or something on your intake manifold it just needs to be pluged! 1 of my homegurls hatch was doing it an it took like 2 min to fix but ill find out exactly what it is then ill repost

Check the idle screw. Mine did that after a swap and the idel screw was finger loose. I tightened it down, and BAM, nice smooth idle.

The IACV is on the backside of the IM, near the firewall. It has two bolts holding it on. take it off, spray it with cleaner, let it dry put it back on.

Get a new gasket for your throttle body and clean the TB while you have it off.

vacuum leak? maybe you forgot to hook one up or its loose, check the one to the brake booster too.

well its not a vaccum leak because i checked all that.. well thnx for all the advice im going to try all of it when i get home and if none works then i'll repost... thnx for the help...any other thoughts dont hurt so express your knowledge so i can bene fit... thnx later yo'

the idle screw might be the problem also . i think that might work also because it was pretty loose but which direction do i tighten it and is that all jss twist the nut?

That is by far the best thread on our motors. This fixes almost damn near all me and my buddies idle problems. It lets me roll up at a stop light and i sound like a stock hf. No whrring, just a nice puuuuurrrrrrrr at 650rpm.

my buddy has an a6 like that. hes got it in a dx. and he pulls on ls's with bolt ons all the time and his **** is stock as hell. but good luck with your problem. and if that it ur rex in that pic..........clean
