1st TEG!!!! Wut to do to it?
I just got this car and am new to honda/acura. My bro has an insane civic 400+hp, but i think i should get sum advice from other people and not just do wutever he tells me to to to my car. So do u guys think i should get the gsr motor or go with lsvtec. Either way i will need a new engine because mine has 200k miles. I have a max of about $3,000 budget.

Wit 3 gees u might have a little trouble reaching that goal. It all depends on what u want. Some people think that LS/VTEC is unreliable and GSR are not cheap either. they have there own characteristic. Do some research and fine out what u like and dont like about both of em. I reccommand Teamintegra.net 4 ur search they have tons of info for tegs.
i will spend 3g's for the motor but i want to by the end of the year reach around 200hp i was talking about when i get sum more money.
I was think of a similar issue, boosted GSR or LSVTEC I did my research at
http://Teamintegra.net and some other sites and i decided to go for the boosted GSR. I dont wanna tell want to get and u not like the results, if want some1 to do that ur bro would be the best choice 4 dat. he seems like he knows what he's doin. But i recommend going GSR from what i heard about LSVTEC.

i most likely will get a turbo eventually like my bro has in his civic but will a turbo be better with the gsr motor or an lsvtec setup?
If you turbo an equal LS-VTEC motor and GS-R motor, the LS-VTEC will be slightly more powerful, but I think in the long run you'll save more money and have less "headaches" boosting a GS-R motor since it's been done way more often and parts are very readily available.

Just boost ur LS motor, 200 HP will be easily attainable... it doesnt matter how many miles are on the engine, its the condition of the engine... do a compression test and see whats up and then get urself a greddy bolt on kit for 2400 and call it a day
rebuild the block for boost and youll have your 200 hp with an ls with lots of room to grow and your bro could mostlikly help you put together a cheap turbo system..... but 3k is kinda cheap for all that work aswell
but good luck on whatever you decide!
and welcome to the Teg family

QFT. Check the condition of ur current engine first, then go from their. You will make plenty of power on a turbo non vtec.

If I were you I would take the 3 g's to build your gs-r motor up for boost, maybe go ahead and buy a stronger clutch and install that while the engine is out to save on labor costs later down the road.
Then Id save up for a turbo while during the clutch break in time, then you can have more than 200 hp

Drive it the way it is for a few months. Take some time and decide for yourself what you like about it, and what you would prefer to change. After a few months, you may decide to change things totally different from what you first thought, or from what others may tell you. Or you may decide that you like it exactly the way it is. In any case, you will still have the money a few months from now, and you can do anything then that you could do now.
Also keep in mind that powertrain upgrades don't do anything for you if your tires can't handle the additional power, or if your brakes can't stop your car better. I am continually amazed by people who get huge power upgrades but still drive around foolishly on crappy tires. EDIT: If you need recommendations for summer tires, check out this post, which is in the ITR forum but applies just as well to all Integras with 15" wheels.
