Heres the deal i bought a 95 4dr dx for my gf, and i finally got to doing some of the interior stuff. Well here is the deal someone had a sunroof put in and who ever did it is a dumb ***, when i got the car the headliner was sagging so i figured i would just recover it well today i pulled all the fabric off and it looks like what they did was the cut the headliner all the way around but the roof leaving about a 1-2 in piece and then they used screws to put it back up and i honestly dont know wtf to do. I can put more fabric up but i have a feeling its going to sag b/c their isnt any headliner to adhere to. SO any info is appreciated

 

put in some support wires running parrallel to all the lines in the cutout.

end to end. first thing that comes to mind

 

well i see how that would work, i was thinking more of taking another headliner and adding it to what im missing.

 

Buy another 4 door headliner and cut-out for your sunroof.

 

Well, i thought about that also but they used wood screws to hold the old headliner up then they put cloth over that so idk if i can get a new one to work

 

not too sure wut u mean exactly, but a ghetto way to do it, if possible, would just be to staple the headliner back up...like the fabric part into wutever the backing...assuming there is a backing?

 

we install sunroofs at my work, when the guy puts in the new headliner it is basically a ring that goes around the sunroof, and hes glues the new material straight to the sunroof. its hard to explain but the headliner gets glued to the sunroof as to permenantly be their and you cant take it out without destroying it. its phuked up. i think an aftermarket roof is the dumbest phuking thing you can do, because if it breaks enough that it needs to come down your screwed. i would have a body shop put in a new roof skin, and a oem headliner. i know thats not cheap, but i dont really have an answer for you. i feel your pain.

 

I have a factory sunroof out of a 4 door you can buy.

 

Jat take it to a auto upholstery shop and them them fix it.there done deal.

 

Yea, im sry if i cant explain it well, ill get some pics tommarow of what they did, i think what im going to do is take an extra headliner i have and cut it up and use some adhesive and make it all closer to one pice then get some good thick fabric and cover it.

JSPECSIR i would have to agree with you on that but like i said its for my gf and she wants the sun roof so im trying to save it, they didnt do it like you said you all do it they cut just almost all the headliner out then sprayed some shitty adhesive and wrapped it in some cloth. Maybe the fact that it started falling apart was due do it being in the direct sun for about 3yrs w/o ever opening.

But im still looking for ideas and will be appreciated Thanks
