Default Failed Emission Test need help...

ok so I went to do the emission test and everything was good except for this:
HC ppm: LIMIT=82 READING 128 = FAIL

The READING is what I got on the test. So what is the problem? I dont get what HC ppm stands for. Im a newb when it comes to engine stuff like this so can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance

EDIT: forgot the mention the car is a 1993 Honda civic VX Hatchback with the stock engine.

HC are hydrocarbons.. or unburned fuel.. sounds like your car is running a little rich

its not running rich per se, if it was you would have a high CO, HC is unburned fuel...usually comes from the ignition side, does the car misfire?

CO% Limit=0.45 READING=0.00
NO ppm Limit= 636 READING=287
those numbers sound good to me. It does not misfire. Just when I stall the engine its like if it backfiring... Thanks for the help!

EDIT: the car idles at 745rpm can this also be the problem?
also the car failed on the ASM2525 TEST but passed on the Curb Idle test...

seafoam is not gonna help in this case because all the numbers are low, what you need to do is get a tune up and change the spark plugs
