Default Changed the Timing Belt...Now a Squeal

Changed my timing belt but there is a slight squeal or wine now. Is this normal, the mechanic said it should go away. Also I did the manual tensioner conversion but someone was saying that the manual tensioner will need to be adjusted in like 4 months and then probably adjusted all the time. IS this True?!?!

Does it sound like this? If it does, your belt is too tight. As for tension, you should check it every few months, but it shouldn't need to be adjusted for a long time (especially not every few months). Sounds like your mechanic is trying to make some money

Yeah it sounds like I got a supercharger. So its too tight then i guess...The mechanic said that he didnt even really have to use the tensioner because the belt
was so tight to begin with. I guess ill just drive it and hope it stops soon. So In theory i shouldnt really have to adjust the tensioner for a long time pretty much until it needs to be replaced right?

I'd double check your timing just to be sure and maybe wait a couple weeks to see if the noise goes away.

He said he didn't need the tensioner because it was 'so tight already' so he might not have the belt tight enough....

Yeah i know that but if you read my other posts you would know that my Mechanic
never had to even use the manual tensioner to tighten it...the damn belt was so tight to get on that the tensioner is not even really being used to tighten it.

you used the three bolt plate for the pulley didn't you? I had to grind down the one bolt to get the tensioner to be able to loosen all the way.
