high fuel pressure
Has anyone ever experienced high fuel pressure because of a fuel rail? I recently assembled a semi built all motor setup for a friend. I installed a walbro pump, 310's, and a b&m fpr/gauge also. Well, the fuel gauge is pegged out. No matter what I do, the pressure stays at 100+ psi. After making sure the return line wasn't clogged or kinked, I removed the fpr and tried it on another car. It worked exactly as it should. I could raise/lower fuel pressure no problem. With that being ok, I suspected the POS gauge could be faulty. So, with the fpr still on the "test" car, I installed the gauge as well and it was correct.
Knowing the fpr and gauge were fine, I reinstalled them back on the original car only to find the fuel pressure pegged out still. So for ***** and giggles, I swapped out the fuel rails on both cars. Upon doing so, it fixed our problem. The loner fuel rail is just a stock gsr rail. The fuel rail on my friend's car is a stock piece too that looks as if it came off a 99-00 civic si (solid cnc machined looking piece). Is there any way to modify this rail to get it to work? Has anyone seen this before? He has ordered an aftermarket rail to remedy the problem but just for personal enrichment, I'd like to get a little more info on it. Thanks!
