POLL 17in rims VS 18s VS 19s!!!??
upgrade in terms of what?
I am sure if you racing the S, those big **** rims wouldn't help a jacksh-t.
find the lightest 16 you can afford if you want "go", get whatever size you want for show, seriously it's about personal taste

heres the thing.
17'' is ideal for the s2000.
18'' is more for show as well as 19''.
in the end it all depends on what rim your looking to get though.

Way more tire available?? 17's have the 16's beat in that dept. Take into account the AP1 tire size is 245/45/16 (rear). MX, one of my all time favorite tire, is not offered in the correct 16" sizes, and neither are RT615's. Now, if you get into R Comp's, it'd be better with 16's, but for me, the RT615's and MX's get it done.
The weight really isn't that much of an issue between light 16 and 17 inch rims. I rather take the lesser sidewall flex of the 17's over the 16's. And the price difference? Seriously, if you can't fork over $20 more for 17" tires, perhaps you really can't afford to own an S. BTW, MX's are $99/$115 for F/R.

15's won't clear the calipers in the front and something about the trailing arms in the back.

So you have to be rich to have an S? I picked up my S dirt cheap and I am your average **** poor college student. Buy smart, not buy more
well, if you have that much tire wall flex in your race tire, you might want to get something better to begin with.
not to be rude but that's how it see it, cheaper lighter=priority for me.

I would prefer downsizing from 17s on my AP2 to 16s. Performance wise it's all about lower rotational mass and polar moment of inertia. Spoon Sw388s or something similar would be my choice. Just not sure if 16s would fit on my car.

I didn't say you have to be rich to own an S. Anyone with $14k can go pick up an S. Now, are you ready to buy a daily driver for winter times (if applicable), higher maintenance costs and sacrifice practicality? Sure, anyone can have the S as an only car, but it's definately not the ideal condition. I can go out and buy a DB9, but I'm not stupid enough to think I can afford it just because I can buy it. If you're a **** poor college student, perhaps the S isn't the smartest decision you made. Barely scraping by just to make car payments or buy new tires should tell you something.
You should try driving 16's and 17's back to back. Definately a better "feel" of the car and road with the 17's. Prices of 17's are really coming down, too. 15's are being dropped from the line ups (performance tires), and soon, 16's will see the same fate. 17's will be the 15's of 4 years ago.

I went 17's twice..... Best overall balance for the s2k....stock for stock the 17's on the same car out performs it over the 16's...sidewall flex is killer...

I'd daily drive 17's (those '06 AP2 wheels look enormous as it is) and get 16's for track rubber.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I hate my 06 wheels, I think they're ugly as ****. I'd love to get 16x7 front, 16x8.5 rear to stay in the same dimensions, but I don't know of any that come in the right offset. I think I'm going to get OEM AP1 wheels and paint them flat black.

you're not staying in the same dimensions if you have 16's. and i've never seen an 16x8.5 for the S before.

yeah I meant width dimension...and I know there aren't any. I'm just getting AP1 wheels for now. I've always thought small wheels looked better anyway. I hate anything bigger than a 17. 18s and 19s on imports = terrible looking to me.
