Default new deck installed...no sound

I posted this topic in the audio/security/video forum but i didn't get any help. Hopefully you guys can pitch in some advice...

Today i started wiring up the deck to the integra. After hooking up all the wires i connected the battery and turned on teh key. The deck turned on i could hear the music pumping out of the speakers (the car hasn't been turned on for 2 years). Then i noticed that i have forgotten one of the speaker wires running out of the deck. Unable to reach it...it turned the deck upside down. However, when i turned it upside down, it went silent. The deck was still on but no sound ran through the car. I thought the wires were touching each other or were loose so i checked. That was not the case. So i quickly wired up another older deck and the speakers came alive again. Can it be that the stereo deck screwed up on me??? Thanks for the input.

Check the 10A fuse on the back of your head unit.

re attach the one that stopped working. Sometime when you mess w/ the speaker wires they need to be "reset"

The fuse is fine in back of the deck. I replaced it but that didn't help.

This was an new deck that i put in. I could have shorted something out...but i don't want to throw away a 200 dollar deck, i needed some input that might be the problem.

I reattached the speakr wires..but that didn't seem to help. IM wondering if it could be the wires coming out from behind the deck. I might have fried those.

thanks for the input

Get a voltmeter ( one of those pens that lights up attached to a wire) and test your pos./neg. wires leading into the H/U.

if you are getting sound, with one deck and not the other, its ovbiously an internal amp issue, (that if you are getting power to the deck and not output) anytime a speaker wire shorts to another, you lose all sound, so check that, if you have a kid, shake the cd player and get that penny he stuck in there out!! ha ha, working at audio shops- seen that one more than enough of my shares worth.

disconnect your audio leads to remove any shorts. btw the test light is not a volt meter.
