slave cylinder???

Im replacing my slave cylinder how exactly do i take this off. i know the two bolt and the nipple but when i got the new one i got the actual slave and then i got this gold rod that has like a half a circle for the head what do i do with htis

gold rod goes bewteen the cylinder and the throwout fork. Take the old one off and you'll see an example that you can follow.

yeah, just take off your old one first, and you'll see how it goes. the part you are wondering about is hidden inside the rubber boot.
