Well, right now I pay $190 full coverage for a 1996 RS, but I am 19 and live in Philly so insurance is high.

Yes $190 a month. Full coverage, no tickets ever. I am primary driver on it.
I also live in a high theft area, well according to insruance anyways.

^Holy SH*T you're getting RAPED.

Full coverage for me would be $950 a year, for a 95 GSR. Clean record.

But yeah, to the OP, look at KBB. That's what they'll pay if your car is totalled.

In the past, when my car was stolen or rear-ended (totalled), 21st century gave me the real market value. They scan their database of cars for sale, and they give you an estimate based off of that.

It's actually very reasonable, especially if you have pictures to show that your car was in descent/exceptional condition.

Thats what happens when I am the primary driver with no secondary driver (only way it can work, since I got 3 people in my fam 2 are under 25 and there are 3 cars, so insruance is gay about it).

Insurance cost is going to vary with company, with your age, with your specific town, with your driving record, with your car model, etc. Asking other people what they pay is silly, because it's not going to tell you how much YOU will pay.

CALL YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY AND ASK. Or, look up quotes FOR YOU on comparison websites like Insweb.com or Insure.com.

You can do this even before you actually decide to buy any particular car...

Nationwide. Just switched to them from Progressive. I'm 22 years old, by the way.

Thanks.

Have you tried calling your insurance company and asking them?

yeah it was $240/mo for my 99 ls there. went down a little though, I was 21 then.

And mine's salvage title so I probably won't get crap for it if it's wrecked.

No, they won't. KBB is often woefully inaccurate, particularly when it comes to low-volume cars like the ITR, NSX, etc. Insurance companies look at what the cars are selling for in your area. And when they do rely on printed guides, the primary guide they rely on is NADA, not KBB. Some companies will offer you closer to market value than others. And some companies give you a low initial offer and you have to haggle with them to get them to raise it. You can do so by giving them a sampling of classifieds similar to your car.

I think this depends... I got $15,500 for my 93 Maxima SE (which was salvaged and the last time I'll ever buy a salvage title car) in 97. I bought this car for $7500 from a guy who bought it salvaged from his brother for $4200. This was though Geico, although I had an attorney who was a friend of my mom's and I had to give him 1/3 of what I got for medical bills and pain and suffering.
