Default is it worth it? crx?

So I work with a guy that has a 89 crx si that has 220k on it, he says it runs but its leaking oil. The interior is clean except drivers seat, the exterior is ok with normal rust on rear fender. He says that there's no title for it. I'm not sure how hard it is to get a title for. He only wants 500.00 for it.The reason why I want to buy it is for a daily driver to work so I can give my em1 a break. I dont know much about the d series motor but Iam mechanically inclined, but have not done ahole lot when it comes to motor work. So any way, I would like some insight to know if the cars worth getting. Also I wouldnt have alot of extra time fixing things about 8-10 hours a week and Im not looking to build a race car just something reliable that can get me back and forth from work and looks good. So the main question is would the crx be an easy car to fix to make reliable? And how hard is it to fix A.C.? Any help would be greatly appreciated word

No title is bad...why dosent he have a title for the car? If he lost it he can get it reissued by the state, well atleast here in PA if thats the case just tell him you will pay for that...if not then i think it will become a salvage title or something meaning it is worth nothing if you try and sell it again...but you need a title to register the car don't you?

Without more info about the car's maintenance history and current condition, it is really impossible to answer. In general, old civics are pretty cheap and easy to maintain. They are relatively simple cars and parts are cheap. They are certainly reliable, but keep in mind the car has 220K miles. It will need work.

yeah, you need to contact the Kansas department of motor vehicles to find out about the title. It might take months and cost a good amount of money. Otherwise, $500 is pretty cheap.

yes, at least in wisconsin you need the title to register the car. also, its illegal here to sell a car without it being registered by the person selling it to you (exept dealerships). i dont know if this is the same where you live.

i just registered my crx today, also a beater. 200 dollars with a horrible body, but runs good. i would have paid 500 if it is like the one your describing.

of course its reliable and easy to work with, its honda.

he said he had the title for it and something happened to it and he's never registered it. I was also wondering how hard swaping motors is.

then he would have to find the person he bought it from and they would have to get the title and sign it over to u. thats how that situation works in georgia.

stolen rex FTW!

you could cut the Vin plates off of it and buy a grey market title on ebay!

seriously though, dont buy a vehicle without a title, you could lose it to the state or worse lose your **** virginity to Tyrone.
