i do have a base model (05) AN YOU CAN'T DO NOTHING WITH IT THATS WHY IAM PLANNING TO CHANGE THE HEAD TO A A2 HEAD WITH THE SAME BLOCK AND ADD A TURBO TO REACH WHAT a type s could never reach power without suffering of a over pressure on the head due to a high compression ration cause i will still on a 9.8:1 ( type-s is 10.8:1 i think not sure ) at lease i will try something nobody will !!!!

and the type s block has stronger internals. higher cr or not, it is the better, stronger platform for boost. sorry to burst your bubble.

if your that into boot i would recommend a K20/K24 hybrid engine more liters for the boost and you get a lot more torque

With boost, you could run 250/300 whp on the A3 with no problems. That's plenty for a front-drive car.

Also consider KPro or K100 and a 6-speed tranny. Cams are available for both n/a and boosted setups.

At this point, any worthwhile mods are going to start costing a lot more money than what you've done so far.

yep, im a base owner myself but at least i dont fool myself.

boost is the only real power adder for the a3, at least for now, there are supposedly a few sets of cams in the works, so we will see what n/a has in store in the coming months.

very true... The K series motor all together is still in the development process as far as modifications go... Just image what is going to be avialable 2 years from now. I cant wait to see a great bolt on manifold that is going to add great power.
